Our friends at the Good News Hospital in Mandritsara, Madagascar have an urgent need for medical doctors.
In particular, the hospital needs a Christian senior medical doctor (perhaps in the second half of registrar training, or a consultant), preferably with experience working in the majority world. Some French language skills would be helpful but not essential.
The senior role is to cover a three-month home assignment for an Australian medical missionary couple from 1 November 2023 to 1 February 2024.
Doctors could have a background in general practice, internal medicine, or A+E.
The Good News Hospital started 25 years ago in one small clinic room in the centre of Mandritsara town, Madagascar. God has provided and grown his work in amazing ways, so the hospital now serves 2,000 outpatients every month and has a 57-bed inpatients – medical, surgical & maternity. There is an operating theatre, eye department, a laboratory, an Xray department, a pharmacy, and a nursing & midwifery school.
Christ is shared with every patient because it was part of a vision of the Bible Baptist Churches of Madagascar to reach the people of Mandritsara with the hope of the gospel.
