September begins in Slovakia for dental treatment, followed by some time in Ethiopia where we will continue helping the church there to choose, train, send and care well for their mission partners. There is also a possible mobilisation opportunity in Sudan - please pray for open doors. From 7-8 November we’ll be part of a prayer initiative for an unreached people group in the Sahara. We’re praying for a breakthrough!

Each year we have a team from Hong Kong who come to help the Foyer Evangelique Universitaire; please pray for their safe travel and that we reach many students in our welcome week from 9-19 Sept, which includes a garage sale and special evening events including a Christian rapper! We need more FEU team leaders; pray that God provides and that we gel together well.

We are thankful for a recent visit from my sister and her children, my first family visitors since I moved out in 2009. Please pray for wisdom and provision for Noella's UK adoption. Pray also for healing for my friend Grace who has breast cancer, and that our children, parents and staff would all be able to connect with healthy local churches and know Jesus as their Saviour.

In September, our son Pedro will move to Pontypridd to begin a Master's degree after graduating with an LLB in Law and Politics from Cardiff University. Please pray for him. Please also pray for our October Theological Conference, the completion of Rana church's kitchen, EPW's ministry and the team who serve in Mozambique.

Please pray for the 24-hour leadership team meeting taking place 7-8 September to kick off the new academic year. Please pray for wisdom and humility as we look to the Lord for the year ahead. Pray too for James, our new Operations Director and Jen, Comms & Content Coordinator, as they settle into their new roles on the team.

Please pray for Daniel's preparation and teaching of a 12-week course on the recent history of Christianity in Latin America. It will be demanding as there is little literature on the subject. Pray too for Jonah starting preschool in September. Ellie has begun working two evenings a week on reception at a nearby hotel - please pray for her as she adjusts.

Pray for good times with family and friends as Rachel and family spend time in the UK and as Elijah and Ezra have attended a Christian camp. We head back to S. Asia in the first week of September for another six months, working with a church and in schools, with motorbikers, in projects with the farmers, and in befriending pickleball players. Pray for good health and opportunities to extend the ministries, which are primarily with Hindus and Muslims. A lady who came to faith last November is growing strong in spite of opposition.

We arrive in the capital on 3 September to get organised, and then fly on to Mandritsara on 18 September. Pray that we would make good first connections with others on the team. Our first three months are set aside for learning Malagasy; pray for good progress. Pray too that the children would settle well in their French-speaking school.

The annual three-day Holiday Bible Club, Ekisa, meaning 'Grace', will be held in early September. Usually there are 400+ children in attendance, linked with staff and the local community. This year’s theme is 'I am Jesus’ witness'. Pray that the leaders and children will learn well, whilst having fun. Pray also for ministry funding: a significant gap has developed for this and other activities.

We are due to return to Kenya on 3 September for Martin to teach for the 12 weeks of the next semester. We’re delighted that three men, to whom Martin taught Systematic Theology, are now teaching at the university: Fabrice (DRC) and Abyot (Ethiopia) have recently become full-time lecturers; Danson (Kenya) is teaching part-time. Pray also for Claudia serving in learning support and biblical counselling on campus and at church.

Pray for the 'Pray Prepare Preach' training I will run, God willing, in Kiunga, from 1-5 September. Pray that the Pacific Leaders' training goes ahead 21-26 November and is life-changing for the 30+ participants. Pray that there will be enough water and power, with the challenges in Port Moresby, and that there will be much fruit as a result of both these training weeks.

Praise God for growth; our resources are reaching the most remote areas across Africa through the growing WhatsApp groups. The magazine is becoming a 'study guide'. Please pray for someone to join the ministry who can teach, write and edit resources for our growing audience. Pray also for praying and financial partners, so we can continue mentoring and resourcing pastors in rural Africa.
