Church Planting in the West of Ireland

In Ireland there are still hundreds of towns and villages with no gospel witness. Irish culture embraces a mixture of traditional religion and secular values, with traditional religion holding particularly strongly in the West. Whilst many have attempted to plant Bible-centred churches in this area in the past, the gospel light continues to shine rather dimly.

Research indicates that only 1% of indigenous Irish people are biblical Christians, the lowest in the English-speaking world.*

We are working with a network of Christians who are committed to establishing Bible-centred churches in the West of Ireland.

Alongside other missionaries we are planting a church in Claremorris, County Mayo.

We moved from our home in Northern Ireland to Claremorris in 2019 to assist with the church plant whilst working in our secular jobs. Andy is a Civil Engineer and Rachel is a Montessori Teacher.

Our ministry here includes evangelism, pastoral care, preaching, teaching, children’s work and youth work.
