We are pleased to receive enquiries from Christians seeking to undertake a period of short term cross cultural ministry. This covers periods from a few weeks to two years.

Flexible placements – typically, though not necessarily,  from young adults either seeking to serve during their university holidays or as part of a gap year. Applicants should be keen to help out wherever needed but aim to match their skills and experience, together with areas in which they are keen to develop, with the needs of our Long Term missionaries. Sometimes, we receive applications from people from a wider age-range (singles, couples, early retirees or families) for short-term service up to 2 years often with a view to exploring potential for future long term service.

Bible College Student Placement – providing opportunities for students to undertake a placement with UFM missionaries around the world. UFM may offer a bursary to successful applicants.

Overseas Ministry Training Scheme – this is currently being explored and developed. From September 2019, we hope to be able to offer placements with UFM Long Term missionaries in various countries around the world.

Operation Centurion – Operation Centurion brings together teams of people with practical skills to undertake specific building projects in countries where UFM missionaries are working.

Medical Electives – looking for an opportunity to serve God on your medical elective? Medical electives  are currently available in Uganda (Kiwoko Hospital) and the Ivory Coast (Ferkessedougou Baptist Hospital).

Summer Teams – Each year UFM sends a number of Summer Teams to go for 2-3 weeks ministry in some of the countries where we work.  In recent years teams have served in South Africa, Moldova, Brazil, France, Hungary, Mongolia, Spain and in the UK.

Applications are considered on an individual basis and must come with the full support of a sending church.
