“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel …” (Mk 16:15)

According to Joshua Project, of the 8 billion people in the world, as many as 42% are unreached with the gospel, and as few as 7.8% are evangelical believers.1

UFM exists to help churches in sending and supporting workers into cross-cultural mission. There are currently over 253 long- and short-term mission workers serving in partnership with UFM in 41 different countries.

It is a great privilege to be serving with UFM in this capacity and to be part of the ongoing work of making Jesus known among the least reached.

“Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Pet 1:13)

My role in UFM is varied and has many challenges but recognising that God’s grace in Christ Jesus is sufficient for me and for all God’s people, I seek to be ready by trusting Him and looking to Him for grace.

I believe that the Lord has prepared me for this role over many years of service in various capacities: in the secular workplace; in full-time pastoral ministry; serving with other Christian organisations. But even my experience, useful and God-ordained as it is, is only truly useful as I seek to make use of it by God’s grace, and acknowledge that it is only by His strength that I can make real progress.

That is not an excuse for idleness, rather it is motivation to serve Him with all my heart, mind and strength, looking not to the passing hopes of this world, but to the eternal and unshakeable hope that is in Christ. Please pray for me as I seek to serve the Lord faithfully.

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” (1 Pet 4.10)

I have, among other things, responsibility for:

  • running the Glasgow office and dealing with mission enquiries and applications in Scotland
  • providing pastoral support to mission partners, and interacting with both sending and supporting churches
  • arranging deputation for visiting missionaries
  • organising the UFM Scottish Conference and other events in Scotland
  • building awareness and raising the profile of UFM in Scotland
  • serving as part of the UFM Senior Leadership Team

I would greatly value your prayers for me in these areas of my ministry.

If you would like to receive my digital prayer letter, you can request this using the ‘Support in Prayer’ button on the right-hand side of this page (there are also some other prayer resource options available there). For those who would like to support my ministry in UFM financially, you can do so using the ‘Support financially’ button on the right-hand side of this page.

Thank you for your prayerful interest in this ministry to which the Lord has called me. It is a joy to serve the Lord in this capacity, to see how he is at work around the world, and to encourage God’s people, both in going, in sending and in supporting the important work of cross-cultural mission.
