Student ministry in Italy
Turin, Italy’s fourth biggest city, is a temporary home to over 14,000 international students and over 50,000 Italian students
Students come from many different countries including Turkey, Iran, Rwanda, India, Germany, France and Brazil. Some of these students have never heard of Christ, or maybe come from a country where it is illegal to proclaim the gospel. Others come as Christians, but with a hunger to know God more and to grow in him.
Turin is a multicultural hub with students from across the globe who have a need to hear the gospel and be discipled. Therefore, there is a need for student ministry – to create an environment in which students can feel at home and grow in their faith.
We are called to take the gospel to ‘the ends of the earth’ – in Turin it feels as if the ends of the earth have been brought here.
Often, I think what a great opportunity it is to have students from so many various cultures turn up to Turin for three or four years to study. There is a real need to welcome them, help them settle in, share community and meals and, ultimately, to point them to Jesus.
My heart is for these international students, some of whom come from closed countries, to come to know Christ. I long to see the students grow in their love of the Lord and then return to their home countries, or elsewhere, built up in their faith and proclaiming the gospel.
Pray for international students in Turin to know the Lord and grow in their love for him.
Only 1% of Italy’s population is Christian. Join me in prayer as the team share the gospel to Italian students too.
I enjoy helping Italian students share Jesus with their non-Christian friends. I have a passion for developing Christ-like leaders who love the Lord, and therefore I am also involved in discipling and training Italian Christians, including helping with their events and Bible studies.
I am involved in mentoring short-term mission partners, as well as helping to create a community among students in which non-believers are welcome, feel at home, and will hear the gospel.
Our hearts are for students to come to know Christ! We long to see the students grow in their love of the Lord and built up in their faith and proclaiming the gospel to their friends.
