A and K
An estimated 281 million people, approximately 3.6% of the world’s population, currently live outside their country of origin. What if there was no church in a language they could understand?
We are a family of 4, born on 4 different continents! A and K met through the international church in East Asia, our son was born there in 2020, and our daughter in Nairobi in 2023.
Now located in a city that attracts students and workers from around the world, our international church is a place for the nations to gather to hear about God, worship him, and go and tell others. Our congregation has attendees from more than 50 countries, representing a variety of backgrounds and testimonies of God’s grace.
Our church is also uniquely placed to reach out to those who have come from least-reached or hard-to-access countries. We have the tremendous opportunity to catalyze the Christians in our congregation to share the gospel with their roommates, classmates, and co-workers from Nepal, Iran, Yemen, and more!
Equipped for service
After serving at an international church in East Asia for several years, we moved to Kenya in 2021. Through graduate seminary education there, both of us became more theologically and culturally equipped for international church ministry. A has now accepted a teaching pastor position back at the international church where we first met.
Our desire is for believers from around the world to rejoice in the Gospel through the faithful proclamation of the Word. Through preaching, discipleship, and intentional friendships, we hope to see Christians from around the world glorify God with their lives and spread his life and light wherever he leads them.
Building solid foundations
As teaching pastor, A will be responsible for preaching regularly in our Sunday service and running the preacher’s training forum – a wonderful opportunity for men in the congregation to be trained in preaching. He will also be working with a team of fellow elders to oversee many other aspects of church life – such as the service, small groups, discipleship and outreach. K will use her gifts and training to disciple, train, and encourage church members (including our children). Her role will be more flexible, based on the needs of our family and church.
