Japan remains one of the least reached countries in the world, with 98.2%* of the population still unreached with the gospel.
Serving together with Fiona Jedari
We’re excited to share that we’ve been given the opportunity to serve in Tokyo, Japan this summer, from 26 May to 23 July 2026. Through the Urban Church Planting Internship (UCPI), we’ll have the privilege of supporting local churches, encouraging believers, and sharing the love of Jesus in a country where fewer than 1% of the population identifies as Christian.
We’re both students in Nottingham, where we met through the Christian Union and quickly discovered a shared passion for serving in Japan. After a season of searching and exploring different options, we came across the UCPI programme through SEND. We believe it was through God’s guidance that we were then connected with UFM.
Our prayer has consistently been that, if it is God’s will for us to serve in Japan, He would make a way. Time and again, we’ve seen that when things feel beyond our control, He reminds us who truly is in control. We’re now choosing to step forward in faith as we prepare for this opportunity, even though there is still much to organise.
We believe God is calling us to:
- Learn and serve in Grace City Church Tokyo
- Support ministries
- Share the hope of Jesus
- Pray for spiritual breakthrough in Japan
- Pray for Japan, for the people we’ll meet, and for God to prepare the way
- Pray for us as we prepare spiritually and practically
- To go, we each need to raise £2,520. This includes living and travel expenses. We are trusting God to provide through the prayers and generosity of those who want to sow into this mission.
