Henry and Esther Court
Helping resource the local church in making disciples
France only has one evangelical church per 25,000 inhabitants – many need evangelism and discipleship.
Despite growth in the church, French congregations are in urgent need of resources, support, and discipleship. According to CNEF (the Evangelical Alliance in France), a new church is planted every 10 days in France—how amazing is that! However, many of these churches lack the resources and support needed to disciple and encourage believers to live sacrificial lives for the gospel.
Our calling
We both felt a strong desire to learn French even before meeting each other, and since getting married in 2019, we have continued to pursue it together. Knowing the Lord was calling us to serve him overseas, we initially imagined serving in a distant place. However, after several holidays in France, our hearts were deeply moved by the French people and the spiritual darkness there.
We developed a passion for seeing Christ made known across France—for unbelievers to encounter the truth and for Christians to be equipped and resourced to share the good news. After much prayer and seeking guidance, we firmly believe the Lord has called us here—to love and serve his Church just across the Channel.
Our roles
Church leaders in France are in desperate need of mature Christians to support and draw alongside them to disciple new converts to spiritual maturity.
Esther seeks to support women’s and students’ ministry, having worked for UCCF for the past seven years.
Henry intends to serve the local church where the need arises, particularly supporting youth ministry, discipleship and evangelism, whilst completing theological studies to grow into a role of an assistant pastor in the long-term.
