Białystok has over 30,000 university students, but most follow traditional religions
Many young people think faith is a taboo topic or do not care about religion. Out of 500 English-speaking international students at the Medical University, only about 30 are connected to local Christian groups, leaving a huge number of students who have very stressful studies but no supportive community.
Białystok is a busy university city in northeast Poland, but international students often feel isolated. Students come from all over the world to do difficult courses at the medical and technology universities. Local Christian groups want to help them, but they do not have enough fluent English speakers to do this work. Also, talking about God in public can be a sensitive issue. Our team needs to be friendly and positive so that we can break down cultural barriers and share the basic message of the Gospel clearly.
Calling
I spent the last year working in student support, doing one-on-one mentoring, and helping young leaders grow. I feel a clear calling to bring these skills to Poland. I love meeting students individually, building real friendships, and using sports or social projects to connect with people. I am excited to work alongside Christian international students who are already on campus, helping them invite their classmates to small groups where they can explore the Bible for the first time.
My main goal is to start fun, open outreach projects like discussion groups and small Bible studies. I want to build a warm, safe community where international students can make deep friendships, help out through volunteering projects, and get individual support and mentoring.
About me
I am a university graduate who loves sports, research, and mentoring people. I really enjoy getting to know people over a coffee, a meal, or a game of football or rugby.
This year, I am moving to Poland to join the local ChSA team as an InterAction Volunteer. My daily job will be to support and grow the ministry for English-speaking students. I will lead small Bible studies, organise university events, and mentor student leaders.
I am looking forward to learning from the Polish church, trying their food, and seeing God work among the students.
