Supporting missionary families through Christian education
Every year, Black Forest Academy (BFA) educates around 270 students from more than 60 nationalities. Around 80% come from missionary families serving in over 40 countries. By providing excellent Christian education and pastoral care, BFA enables parents to continue serving where suitable education for their children would otherwise be unavailable.
Why Germany?
Tom serves as Associate Chaplain at Black Forest Academy, an international Christian boarding school in southwest Germany. Staffed by missionaries, BFA exists to support global mission by caring for the children of those serving around the world.
After working as a paediatric physiotherapist in the UK, Tom sensed God leading him into student ministry. Previous experience serving with youth groups and summer camps, alongside his professional background, has prepared him well to walk alongside young people as they grow in their faith.
Ministry
As Associate Chaplain, Tom provides pastoral care, discipleship and biblical encouragement to students as they navigate both the opportunities and challenges of boarding school life. His desire is to build meaningful relationships, help students grow in their relationship with Christ, and equip them to follow him wherever God may lead.
About Tom
Tom and his wife, Romy, recently moved to the south west region of Germany as Tom began serving at Black Forest Academy. Tom is excited to invest in the lives of missionary children, supporting families who are serving Christ across the globe.
Prayer points:
- God would be working powerfully in the hearts of students at Black Forest Academy, and through their families as they serve Christ across the globe.
- Through every conversation and interaction, Tom would faithfully point students to Jesus and the hope found in Him.
- God would enable Tom to develop strong, Christ-centred relationships with the students
