Building up the church as we share the good news of Jesus among the unreached in the Middle East (magi land)

Less than 0.03% of the people group we work with are evangelical Christians out of a population of 3.3 million. 99.96% of the population is Muslim.

As a Muslim nation with almost no Christian witness, there is a great need for Christ to be made known and his love shared. People from a Muslim background have an idea of who they think Jesus is based on the Qur’an, but they do not understand and know Jesus for who he actually is. Society is heavily fragmented because of tribal loyalty. There are also sects of Islam mixed with Zoroastrianism. Our local people (whom some call the modern magi) are thought to be descended from the magi (wise men) mentioned in the Bible. The barrier to come to Christ is so high and the need for gospel workers is immense.

Our heart is to see the unreached come to faith in the Lord Jesus and we wanted to serve the Lord in the 10/40 window. Through our local church in Sheffield, we were connected to a local church in magi land and God opened a door for us to serve there and come alongside the work he is already doing. We love magi culture and magi people, and we are grateful to share our lives with them that Jesus might be made much of.

As a nation with almost no Christian witness, there is a great need for Christ to be made known and his love shared.

We want to live our lives in a way that gives glory to the Lord and points others to him. It would be wonderful to see magi give their lives to Jesus and become invested in growing the magi-church. We believe in equipping others to do what God has called them to do and we want to raise up magi to lead their own churches.

We are passionate about seeing the local church encouraged and equipped to love the Lord and share his love with others. Aside from settling into a new culture and church, our main priority will be learning the magi language. As we settle into our new home, we want to build relationships with magi through visits and outings, as well as with our new church family.

Alongside our team, we are excited to join in with Bible studies and the discipleship of magi already in the church as well as sharing the gospel to new magi whom the Lord puts in front of us.

We love magi culture and magi people, and we are grateful to share our lives with them that Jesus might be made much of.
