Church planting in unreached areas of France

Christopher (Del) and Laura’s vision is to spend the rest of their lives planting churches, training church-planters and helping people in France to know and grow in their love for Jesus.

 

God has promised: ‘For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.’ Habakkuk 2:14.

There are huge areas of France where people have no opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus. There are over 250 towns of 10,000+ people with no gospel-believing, gospel-preaching churches. Of the 36,664 communities in France, approximately 34,500 have no resident evangelical witness. There are whole areas (equivalent to British counties) with just one or two struggling evangelical churches, trying to reach the hundreds of thousands of people who live there. The gospel-believing church in France is one tenth the size of the church in the UK.

 

In Paris, Del and Laura are working for a network of three French Baptist Association churches in the Paris region, helping to see church-plants established in Chelles and Val d’Europe, two unreached towns to the east of Paris.

Focus on… France

France, the birthplace of John Calvin, saw a glorious revival in the mid-16th century with Calvin and others in Geneva training and sending thousands of pastors to evangelise and plant churches in France, and hundreds of thousands being converted.
