In Luke 7 we read of a Roman centurion in Capernaum whom the Jewish elders warmly commended to Jesus.

They told him, “He loves our nation and has built our Synagogue.” Jesus commended the man’s faith and healed his servant. This incident provides the inspiration for UFM’s Operation Centurion ministry.

Operation Centurion (OC) brings together teams of people with practical skills to undertake specific projects in countries where UFM mission partners are working. OC teams have undertaken projects in Brazil, Burkina Faso, France, Ivory Coast and Moldova. They have built entire homes, Bible College lecture rooms, churches, replaced roofs, refurbished kitchens and much more.

“Being present and helping practically is a wonderful witness to our unity in the gospel”

Being present and helping practically is a wonderful witness to our unity in the gospel and is a tangible way to bless our brothers and sisters worldwide. The impact is also felt in the church families and friends of those who go with Operation Centurion, connecting people across the world.

We have been unable to run any teams in recent years, but we are pleased that we have Steve as our new Coordinator to lead the ministry. We are looking to create a list of interested people who may be able to join a team. If that is you or you would like to find out more, please contact centurion@ufm.org.uk.
