Church Planting in Ireland
Shaun writes: I am the Church Planting Pastor for Tipperary Christian Fellowship (TCF).
The Lord called me to Ireland in 2005. I am an evangelist and church planter at heart, and I see my missionary endeavour as twofold:
1. The equipping and strengthening of the local church, and
2. The mentoring of faithful men and women.
My vision is inspired by 2 Tim 2:2: “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
What does your role involve?
I’m thankful for the signs of growth among small churches in Ireland, but there is a need to train and mentor people for leadership roles: men who can then help their congregations to mature. At TCF, for example, the church has been faithful for over 20 years without pastoral oversight; leadership and now leadership development is key to our growth and maturity in Christ.
As leadership training and mentoring is on my heart, I am seeking to equip believers here. TCF also needs young families to join who are willing to serve, and be disciples. We also need evangelistic outreach into the community. Pray with me about these things.

What motivates you to do your role?
Three verses particularly speak to me about the role the Lord has called me to:
- To preach/teach the whole counsel of God faithfully, with a clear conscience. (Acts 20:27).
- To live a life that is worthy of my Lord and Saviour, as an example to my flock. (1 Cor 11:1).
- To pursue Christ at any cost. (Phil 3:7-11).
Tell us about the new radio ministry
The Lord has opened the door for a Bible radio broadcast on the last Wednesday of each month – a wonderful opportunity to reach out with the good news.
Tell us a little about yourself
I am blessed with two daughters Amy and Eden. I enjoy music, reading, watercolour painting and I am a keen Liverpool supporter.
